I've finally had enough of Opera, even with the no-ads latest version that I have. I am sick of things just not working in my browser. And so I'm moving to Firefox - with all the hassle of finding out what the hell all my passwords are and reinputting them.

I moved to Opera from Explorer before Firefox was even born. I had grown sick of death of Microsoft's browser and the ever-increasing number of security patches. The browser was - and is - slow, old and out-of-date.

Opera was a revelation in comparison. Faster pages, tabbed browsing, lots of nice little extras. But the past few months, it has become more and more hassle.

I have to shift to Explorer to access by bank account - something that NatWest tells me is entirely Opera's fault because it will not introduce the security protocols that the bank uses. Opera has consistently failed to tell me why - and I have asked, officially, three times now.

Opera also doesn't work with this blog's content management system properly, so I found myself moving over to Firefox to type stuff here.

Then Opera doesn't save some of my passwords so I have to reinput them every time. And then there are the sites that don't work properly with Opera which I keep coming across. There is the download feature that is sketchy. And on and on and on.

Finally when the browser just kept sticking while I was trying to work (Opera doesn't like running with lots of windows open) and I was forced to switch over to Firefox (importing all my bookmarks zap in seconds) to get access to vital information, I decided enough was enough.

I am making the move and already my life has become easier. I have just now gone into my computer's control panel and changed the preferences to HTML and GIFs and JPEGs open in Firefox, not Opera, although for some reason I still haven't been able to change clicking links in Outlook Express - maybe it will kick in once I restart the computer.

Basically it's adios to Opera - thanks for a good time and everything but you were becoming a drag. I'm dumping you for a younger model.

That said, if my ex - Explorer - tarts herself up enough when version 8 comes out soon, I might reignite that relationship, so Firefox better show me a good time.
