Where am I?

I’m trying out some new Web2.0 stuff called Plazes, which tracks me as I move around.

I’ll tie it into this blog in a minute, but in the meantime, here is the URL to follow if you want to know where I am at any give time:

http://beta.plazes.com/user/KierenMcCarthy

I have some code. Let’s see if this works…

Do you have to tell it where you are, or can it tell?

I have give the programme permission to pick up where I am when I logged onto the Net. Presumably it works through IP address. You can also SMS your location and also be more precise through the web. It’s quite good, but I’m not sure yet what the real-world privacy implications are.
